a Maine-based textile company created a cotton/mohair blend cloth. Realizing they had a unique fabric that was light and comfortable for warm weather, they sold it to manufacturers of tailored clothing. By 1931, they had set up their own clothing company and called it Palm Beach.  Today’s Palm Beach suits, jackets and trousers transcend seasons with fabrications ranging from summer-weight cottons and linens to elegant, wool gabardines that are perfect for year-round wear.

The Palm Beach Brand began when

A young man named Bud Ruby worked in his dad's overall company in Indiana in the late 1940s. To mimic the comfort of those overalls, he developed a unique, rubber grip waistband that he put in a line of dress pants. He called his new pants "sans-a-belt," since there is no need to wear a belt with them. And without a belt, every man can look sharp and feel like he's in his pj's!
